Bicycle brake systems are more advanced and complicated than ever. Even with an old system like rim brakes, things have changed. Brake systems have different pad choices for different types of riding and different types of equipment. For example, you can’t run alloy rim pads on carbon rims and vice versa. Disc brake pads are metal or organic or sintered and require more than just adjusting a bolt to install and adjust.

Your bicycle may be operating flawlessly but that doesn’t mean that you don’t need service. Brake pads are something that work perfect right up until they wear out, then your braking stops…no pun intended.

When You Need It:

We recommend getting your pads checked at the beginning of each riding season, this way we can advise you on how often you need to replace the pads.
